Snetterton undergoes key improvements over the winter

Snetterton circuit will be in better shape than ever ahead of the 2023 motorsport season, which begins with the Snetterton Stage Rally on Saturday 11 February, following an ongoing programme of pre-season improvements.

These include major refurbishments of two of the most important buildings on-site - the Race Control building and Medical Centre. Race Control has been renovated with a complete rewiring from top to bottom, new screens and flooring, meaning that all visiting organisers will benefit from a significantly upgraded environment.

The medical centre is also being revamped with redeveloped treatment rooms, including new flooring, an improved kitchen and refreshed interior décor. New electric car charging ports have been installed too, making it easier than ever before for race organisations to use green-powered support vehicles.

Elsewhere in the paddock, drainage has been replaced and expanded, to prevent excessive development of surface water.

Out on the circuit itself, no fewer than 160 sheets of Armco have been replaced to ensure the circuit's trackside safety furniture is in the best possible condition. Hundreds of metres have been cleaned too, ensuring the circuit fully primed and ready for a busy calendar of events throughout the year.

This is the first programme of off-season winter works to have taken place under the watch of new Circuit Manager Stuart Mills, who joined the venue to lead its operations personnel last autumn.

Mills said: "I'm delighted we've been able to address several key areas of the venue this winter, including the Race Control and Medical Centre buildings, which are two of the most important interior spaces on-site. We're working to ensure that the experience for those using the circuit is improved in key areas whilst maintaining our high standards more broadly across the venue. I'm looking forward to my first full season in the role of Circuit Manager here at Snetterton, and these initial developments make for a very positive start!"
